Home Buying Steps
Get Pre-Approved
Meet with a local lender and get fully pre-approved. A lender will examine your income, credit score and assets to determine how much you can afford. Determining the home buying budget you are comfortable with will be key in putting together your search parameters. Getting pre-approved ahead of time will also put you in a great position to write an offer when that perfect property comes along!
Your Ideal Home
Come up with a list of all of the things you would like to see in your next home. Do you want to live in a particular neighborhood or be in a specific school district? Do you have an ideal square footage or a preferred number of bedrooms and bathrooms?
See Properties
Brittany will assist in scheduling private showings for you to preview homes as well as share with you when properties are available to visit during open houses.
Write An Offer
Great news, you have found that perfect property! Brittany will assist you with determining the value of the home by examining recent sales in the neighborhood and current market trends. Brittany will guide you through the process of crafting and presenting a strong offer to the Seller.
Accepted Offer
Congrats you have an accepted offer! The next steps include opening escrow, depositing your earnest money into escrow, performing inspections at the property and reviewing all disclosures and property reports.
The Loan
Promptly provide all requested paperwork to your lender (bank statements, tax returns, etc.) Your lender will handle scheduling the property appraisal.
Closing
Once the loan has been approved and loan documents have been drawn the Buyer will go into the escrow office or meet with a notary to sign the final escrow paperwork as well as the loan documents. All final downpayment funds will be due to escrow a few days before escrow closes. Once the loan has funded, if applicable, escrow can move forward with closing. Upon the recording of escrow closing Brittany will be excited to hand over the keys to your new home!
